About the Image Cropper
Trims an uploaded image's edges by percentage margins on each side, useful for removing borders, unwanted edges, or adjusting composition without needing precise pixel coordinates.
How to use it
- Upload an image.
- Enter a Trim percentage for the top, right, bottom, and left edges.
- Click Crop, then download the result.
Formula
Crop region = original dimensions minus the specified percentage margin from each side, then redrawn onto a canvas at the resulting smaller size.
Worked example
Trimming 10% from each side of a 1000×1000 image results in an 800×800 output, centered on the original middle 80%.
Recommendations
- • Percentage-based cropping scales naturally to any image size, so the same settings work regardless of your photo's dimensions.
- • Use uneven margins, like more from the top than the bottom, to recompose an image rather than just trimming it symmetrically.
- • Preview before downloading — cropping is easy to redo by adjusting percentages and cropping again from the original upload.
Frequently asked questions
Not directly — this works in percentage margins for simplicity across any image size. Calculate the percentage equivalent of your target pixel coordinates first.
