How to use it
  1. Enter total available time in minutes, and (optionally) a start time.
  2. Enter your work interval, short break, long break, and how many cycles before a long break.
  3. Read how many full cycles fit, your total focused work and break time, and your suggested finish time.
Formula
Repeatedly subtracts one work interval, then one break (a long break every Nth cycle), from your remaining time, stopping as soon as there isn't enough time left for a complete cycle.
Worked example

With 120 minutes available, default 25/5 intervals, a 15-minute long break every 4 cycles, and a 09:00 start: 4 full cycles fit (100 minutes of focused work, 15 minutes of breaks), with 5 minutes left over, finishing at 10:55.

Interpreting your result

Based on Francesco Cirillo's Pomodoro Technique (default 25-minute work intervals with a 5-minute break, and a longer break after every 4th interval). The suggested finish time assumes no interruptions.

Recommendations
  • Shortening your work interval generally fits more cycles into the same total time.
  • If your leftover time is consistently large, consider slightly shortening your work interval.
  • The long break exists to prevent burnout across a long session.
