Formula

The Nanakshahi calendar (adopted by the SGPC in 2003) is a tropical solar calendar: the first 5 months (Chet-Sawan) have 31 days, the remaining 7 (Bhadon-Phaggan) have 30 (Phaggan gets an extra day in a leap year). The year always starts 1 Chet, fixed at March 14. Year 1 = 1469 CE, the birth year of Guru Nanak.
