About the Price Comparison Calculator
Compares the true unit price of two products — price ÷ quantity — so a bigger package isn't automatically assumed to be the better deal.

How to use it
- Enter each product's price, quantity, and a unit label (e.g. "oz", "L", "count").
- Use the same unit label for both products.
- Read which product has the lower price per unit, and by how much.
Formula
unit price = price ÷ quantity
Worked example
Product A: $4.99 for 16 oz ($0.3119/oz). Product B: $8.49 for 32 oz ($0.2653/oz). Product B is about 15% cheaper per unit despite costing more upfront.
Recommendations
- • Check the package label for a metric equivalent if the units don't match — this tool doesn't convert between unit types itself.
- • A bulk size is only a real deal if you'll use it before it expires or spoils.
- • Store shelf tags already show a "unit price" in small print — this tool is the same math, useful when comparing across different stores or brands.
Frequently asked questions
Products are packaged in dozens of different units (oz, lb, count, sheets, loads) — a free-text label keeps the tool flexible without needing a huge unit-conversion table.
