How to use it
- Enter a date.
- Read the Omer day count, or whether the date falls outside the count period.
Formula
Day count = (Gregorian date β 16 Nisan of that Hebrew year) + 1, valid for days 1 through 49 (16 Nisan through 5 Sivan); outside that range, the date isn't part of the Omer count.
Worked example
16 Nisan is day 1; 5 Sivan is day 49; Shavuot itself (6 Sivan) is the 50th day, the day after the count ends.
Interpreting your result
The count begins on 16 Nisan β the day after the first day of Passover β and Nisan through Sivan never crosses a Hebrew new year boundary, so this calculation doesn't need any of the year-drift handling this site's other Hebrew-date tools use.
