Daily Panchang Calculator

Tithi = (sidereal Moon − Sun longitude) ÷ 12°. Nakshatra = sidereal Moon longitude ÷ 13°20'. Yoga = (sidereal Sun + Moon longitude) ÷ 13°20'. Karana = half-Tithi. All sidereal positions use the Lahiri (Chitrapaksha) ayanamsa.

Computed at local midday for the selected date as a single daily snapshot — a real Panchang technically changes at exact Tithi/Nakshatra transition moments, which can occur at any time of day, not captured minute-by-minute here.

See the Daily Panchang Calculator
Tithi Calculator

Tithi number = floor((sidereal Moon longitude − sidereal Sun longitude) ÷ 12°) + 1, where 1-15 is Shukla Paksha (waxing) and 16-30 is Krishna Paksha (waning).

Tithi doesn't depend on your location, only the date — computed here at local midday (UTC-referenced). A Tithi can begin or end at any time of day, so the value shown may already have changed by the exact moment you're checking for, especially near a Tithi boundary.

See the Tithi Calculator
Rahu Kaal Calculator

Daylight (sunrise to sunset) is divided into 8 equal segments; a fixed segment number is used for each weekday (verified against multiple real published Rahu Kalam tables for several 2026 dates before shipping).

A purely mechanical calculation — no planetary positions are needed beyond sunrise and sunset for your specific location and date.

See the Rahu Kaal Calculator
Yamaganda Calculator

Daylight (sunrise to sunset) is divided into 8 equal segments; a fixed segment number is used for each weekday (verified against real published Yamagandam tables before shipping) — same mechanism as Rahu Kaal, different segment mapping.

A purely mechanical calculation — no planetary positions are needed beyond sunrise and sunset for your specific location and date.

See the Yamaganda Calculator
Gulika Kaal Calculator

Daylight (sunrise to sunset) is divided into 8 equal segments; a fixed segment number is used for each weekday (verified against real published Gulika Kalam tables before shipping) — same mechanism as Rahu Kaal and Yamaganda, a separate segment mapping.

A purely mechanical calculation — no planetary positions are needed beyond sunrise and sunset for your specific location and date.

See the Gulika Kaal Calculator
Choghadiya Calculator

Daylight and night are each divided into 8 equal segments, cycling through 7 named periods (Amrit, Shubh, Labh, Char considered favorable; Rog, Kaal, Udveg considered unfavorable) in a fixed weekday-dependent starting order (verified against real published day AND night Choghadiya sequences for 4 different dates before shipping).

A purely mechanical calculation based on sunrise/sunset for your specific location and date — no planetary positions needed.

See the Choghadiya Calculator
Sunrise & Sunset Calculator

Computed via astronomy-engine's SearchRiseSet, a real astronomical model — not a fixed approximation.

Verified against real published sunrise/sunset times for a known location and date, landing within about a minute — small residual differences from other sources can come from atmospheric refraction assumptions or elevation, which this tool doesn't model.

See the Sunrise & Sunset Calculator
Hindu Calendar Converter

The lunar month is derived from the Sun's sidereal Rashi (zodiac position, Lahiri ayanamsa) at the given date, using the classical Rashi-to-month correspondence (Mesha=Chaitra, Vrishabha=Vaishakha, ... Meena=Phalguna) — a solar-position-based rule that stays correct even in a year with an Adhik Maas (intercalary leap month), unlike a Nakshatra-of-Purnima naming scheme. Vikram Samvat and Kali Yuga years both change at Chaitra Shukla Pratipada (found via the same Tithi search used elsewhere on this site); Shaka Samvat changes at a fixed Gregorian date (21 or 22 March) per its 1957 civil-calendar reform.

Amanta and Purnimanta genuinely name the same calendar day differently depending on regional convention — not an error. All calculated at a fixed India Standard Time midday reference, independent of your own location, since these are national calendar conventions.

See the Hindu Calendar Converter
Diwali Date Calculator

Diwali falls on Kartik Amavasya (Krishna Paksha, 30th Tithi) — found by searching for the date whose Tithi is Krishna Amavasya AND whose Sun sidereal Rashi is Tula (Libra), the second condition needed to correctly disambiguate the right month's occurrence in a year with an Adhik Maas (intercalary leap month), like 2026.

This is a calculated approximation using a fixed India Standard Time midday reference — the actual moment of Amavasya can fall at any time of day, so for a date very close to the transition, some regional Panchangs may observe Lakshmi Puja a day earlier or later. Confirm with a local Panchang for the exact time of Lakshmi Puja itself, which is traditionally performed during a specific evening muhurat, not simply 'on' the date.

See the Diwali Date Calculator
Ram Navami Date Calculator

Ram Navami falls on Chaitra Shukla Navami (9th Tithi of Shukla Paksha in Chaitra month) — found by searching for the date whose Tithi is Shukla Navami AND whose Sun sidereal Rashi is Meena (Pisces), the second condition needed to correctly disambiguate the right month's occurrence in an Adhik Maas (leap month) year.

This is a calculated approximation using a fixed India Standard Time midday reference; the real day can occasionally differ by one day from a local Panchang, which determines the day from the Tithi active at sunrise rather than a fixed midday snapshot.

See the Ram Navami Date Calculator
Janmashtami Date Calculator

Janmashtami falls on Bhadrapada Krishna Ashtami (8th Tithi of Krishna Paksha, Purnimanta reckoning) — found by searching for the date whose Tithi is Krishna Ashtami AND whose Sun sidereal Rashi is Simha (Leo), the second condition needed to correctly disambiguate the right month's occurrence in an Adhik Maas (leap month) year.

This is a calculated approximation using a fixed India Standard Time midday reference — real observance is traditionally tied to the moment Ashtami Tithi overlaps midnight (Krishna's traditional birth hour), which can shift the observed date by a day in some years or regions from this tool's midday-based calculation.

See the Janmashtami Date Calculator
Ganesh Chaturthi Date Calculator

Ganesh Chaturthi falls on Bhadrapada Shukla Chaturthi (4th Tithi of Shukla Paksha) — found by searching for the date whose Tithi is Shukla Chaturthi AND whose Sun sidereal Rashi is Simha (Leo), the second condition needed to correctly disambiguate the right month's occurrence in an Adhik Maas (leap month) year.

This is a calculated approximation using a fixed India Standard Time midday reference; the real observed date can occasionally differ by a day from a local Panchang's sunrise-based determination.

See the Ganesh Chaturthi Date Calculator
Navratri Dates Calculator

Both Navratris start on Shukla Pratipada (1st Tithi of Shukla Paksha) — Sharad Navratri in Ashwin month (found via Sun Rashi Kanya/Virgo), Chaitra Navratri in Chaitra month (found via Sun Rashi Meena/Pisces). The Rashi check disambiguates the correct month's occurrence in an Adhik Maas (leap month) year.

This is a calculated approximation using a fixed India Standard Time midday reference; the real observed date can occasionally differ by a day from a local Panchang's sunrise-based determination.

See the Navratri Dates Calculator
Holi Date Calculator

Holika Dahan falls on Phalguna Purnima (15th Tithi of Shukla Paksha) — found by searching for the date whose Tithi is Shukla Purnima AND whose Sun sidereal Rashi is Kumbha (Aquarius), the second condition needed to correctly disambiguate the right month's occurrence in an Adhik Maas (leap month) year. Rangwali Holi is simply the following calendar day.

This is a calculated approximation using a fixed India Standard Time midday reference. Holika Dahan is traditionally performed after moonrise on Purnima evening — this tool gives the calendar date, not the specific muhurat time, which varies by location and year.

See the Holi Date Calculator
Ekadashi Date Calculator

Ekadashi is the 11th Tithi of each Paksha — occurring twice per lunar month, once in Shukla Paksha and once in Krishna Paksha — found by searching forward day-by-day from the given start date for the next matching Tithi.

This is a calculated approximation using a fixed India Standard Time midday reference. Ekadashi fasting rules (when exactly to begin/break the fast) are traditionally tied to the precise moment of the Tithi transition, which can vary by a day between different regional Panchangs — always confirm the exact fasting window with a local Panchang.

See the Ekadashi Date Calculator
Purnima Date Calculator

Purnima is the 15th Tithi of Shukla Paksha (full moon) — found by searching forward day-by-day from the given start date for the next date whose Tithi matches.

This is a calculated approximation using a fixed India Standard Time midday reference; the exact moment of full moon can fall at any time of day, so a date very close to the transition can occasionally differ by a day from another source.

See the Purnima Date Calculator
Amavasya Date Calculator

Amavasya is the 30th (final) Tithi of Krishna Paksha (new moon) — found by searching forward day-by-day from the given start date for the next date whose Tithi matches.

This is a calculated approximation using a fixed India Standard Time midday reference; the exact moment of new moon can fall at any time of day, so a date very close to the transition can occasionally differ by a day from another source.

See the Amavasya Date Calculator
Pradosh Vrat Date Calculator

Pradosh Vrat falls on Trayodashi (the 13th Tithi) of each Paksha — occurring twice per lunar month — found by searching forward day-by-day from the given start date for the next matching Tithi.

This is a calculated approximation using a fixed India Standard Time midday reference. Pradosh Vrat worship is traditionally performed during Pradosh Kaal, a specific window around sunset — this tool gives the calendar date, not that exact time window, which varies by location.

See the Pradosh Vrat Date Calculator
Sankashti Chaturthi Date Calculator

Sankashti Chaturthi falls on Chaturthi (the 4th Tithi) of Krishna Paksha — occurring once per lunar month — found by searching forward day-by-day from the given start date for the next matching Tithi.

This is a calculated approximation using a fixed India Standard Time midday reference. The fast is traditionally broken after moonrise, whose exact local time this tool doesn't compute — check a local Panchang for moonrise timing.

See the Sankashti Chaturthi Date Calculator
Kali Yuga Calculator

Kali Yuga is traditionally said to have begun at midnight, 18 February 3102 BCE. The year count changes at Chaitra Shukla Pratipada (the same lunisolar new year Vikram Samvat uses, found via a real Tithi search), not on 1 January — so the Kali Yuga year is the Gregorian year plus 3101 before that date, or plus 3102 after it, in a given year.

This is a traditional cosmological reckoning, not a scientific or historical claim — treat the epoch date and the 432,000-year total duration as sourced tradition (Surya Siddhanta), not facts to be independently verified against physical or historical evidence.

See the Kali Yuga Calculator
Vimshottari Dasha Calculator

Vimshottari Dasha assigns a fixed 120-year cycle across 9 planetary lords (Ketu 7, Venus 20, Sun 6, Moon 10, Mars 7, Rahu 18, Jupiter 16, Saturn 19, Mercury 17 years) in a fixed repeating order. Which lord's period is running at birth, and how much of it remains (the "balance"), depends only on the Moon's Nakshatra (lunar mansion) at birth — specifically, which of the 27 Nakshatras and how far through its 13°20' span the Moon has traveled. Each Mahadasha further subdivides into 9 Antardashas in the same 9-lord order, each proportional to (Mahadasha lord's years × Antardasha lord's years) ÷ 120.

Computed from real sidereal Moon positions (Lahiri ayanamsa), the same astronomical foundation as this site's Panchang and Tithi calculators. Because the Moon moves roughly 13° per day, birth time accuracy genuinely matters — even an hour's uncertainty can shift the starting Dasha balance by weeks. This is a traditional astrological framework, not a scientific prediction system.

See the Vimshottari Dasha Calculator
Kundali Birth Chart Calculator

The Ascendant is the tropical ecliptic longitude of the point where the ecliptic crosses the eastern horizon at your exact birth instant and location, computed via the standard formula tan(Asc) = -cos(RAMC)/(sin(ε)tan(φ)+cos(ε)sin(RAMC)) (RAMC = Local Sidereal Time, ε = obliquity of the ecliptic, φ = latitude). All planetary positions use real geocentric sidereal astronomy (Lahiri ayanamsa), the same foundation as this site's Panchang and Vimshottari Dasha calculators. Rahu and Ketu use the Mean Lunar Node (a standard low-precision polynomial, not the more complex "True Node" some software offers).

Verified before shipping against two independent checks: (1) at the exact moment of sunrise, the Ascendant must physically equal the Sun's own ecliptic longitude — confirmed to within ~1° (matching the known refraction correction) at two test locations on different continents; (2) Jupiter and Saturn's computed sign/Nakshatra for a real test date matched independently-published 2026 transit reports exactly, down to the specific Nakshatra. This tool shows planetary positions only — not houses, aspects, strength (Shadbala), or an interpretive reading, which need a qualified astrologer.

See the Kundali Birth Chart Calculator
Mangal Dosha Calculator

Mangal Dosha (also called Kuja Dosha or Angarak Dosha) is traditionally said to occur when Mars falls in the 1st, 4th, 7th, or 12th house, counted from a reference point — this tool checks all 3 commonly-used reference points (Ascendant, Moon, Venus) since real disagreement exists on which is the correct one to use.

Houses 2 and 8 are a real, additional variant some traditions include in the afflicted-house list — deliberately not added here, since including them changes the result and there's no single agreed-upon standard. Many practicing astrologers also apply cancellation rules (Mangal Dosha Bhang, e.g. based on Mars's own sign or aspects) this simple placement check doesn't compute.

See the Mangal Dosha Calculator
Kaal Sarp Dosha Calculator

Checks whether all 7 classical planets (Sun, Moon, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus, Saturn) fall within the 180° sidereal arc measured forward from Rahu to Ketu, OR all within the 180° arc measured forward from Ketu to Rahu — either constitutes the dosha, since it means every planet is "hemmed in" on one side of the lunar-node axis rather than straddling both sides.

Rahu and Ketu are computed using the Mean Lunar Node (a standard, real astronomical method — a smoothed value with no short-term ~18.6-year oscillation) rather than the more complex True Node some software uses. This is a real, disclosed method choice, not an error. This tool checks the geometric condition only — it does not distinguish the many classical named sub-types (Anant, Kulik, Vasuki, Shankhapal, and others), which depend on which house Rahu specifically occupies.

Shani Sade Sati Calculator

Sade Sati ("seven and a half") is Saturn's transit through the Rashi (sign) immediately before your natal Moon's sign, then through your natal Moon's own sign, then through the sign immediately after — traditionally divided into a Rising, Peak, and Setting phase, each lasting roughly 2.5 years since Saturn spends about that long transiting one sign.

This checks CURRENT status on your chosen date only — it does not compute the exact dates your Sade Sati period starts or ends, since Saturn's real transit speed varies (including retrograde loops), and a precise boundary date needs an actual forward/backward search of Saturn's position rather than a fixed +2.5-year estimate. A future version may add this.

See the Shani Sade Sati Calculator
Navaratna Gemstone Reference

A fixed, standardized classical correspondence: Sun-Ruby, Moon-Pearl, Mars-Red Coral, Mercury-Emerald, Jupiter-Yellow Sapphire, Venus-Diamond, Saturn-Blue Sapphire, Rahu-Hessonite, Ketu-Cat's Eye. Cross-checked against astrosage.com before shipping — matched exactly.

Deliberately built as a reference table only, not a personalized recommendation tool. Real, unresolved scholarly disagreement exists on the correct basis for choosing which gem an individual should wear (by Moon sign, by Ascendant, or by the weakest/most afflicted planet in a full chart) — presenting one automated answer would misrepresent a genuinely contested question as settled.

See the Navaratna Gemstone Reference
Vastu Checklist

Each row reflects a classical Vastu Shastra directional principle — e.g. the kitchen traditionally belongs in the South-East (Agneya, the fire-element corner), the master bedroom in the South-West (Nairutya, the earth-element corner). Cross-checked against astrosage.com and other Vastu references before shipping.

Deliberately built as a checklist, not a numeric score. No canonical "Vastu score out of 100" formula exists in classical texts — that kind of blended score is a modern web-tool invention, not real methodology, so this tool doesn't fabricate one. Real homes commonly can't match every guideline due to plot shape or existing structure — this is informational reference, not a renovation mandate.

See the Vastu Checklist
Lucky Number & Colour Calculator

Mulank (also spelled Moolank) is computed by reducing just the day-of-month you were born to a single digit — e.g. born on the 29th: 2+9=11, then 1+1=2. Each of the 9 possible Mulanks (1-9) has a traditional ruling planet in Vedic numerology, cross-checked against astrosage.com and independent numerology references before shipping: 1=Sun, 2=Moon, 3=Jupiter, 4=Rahu, 5=Mercury, 6=Venus, 7=Ketu, 8=Saturn, 9=Mars.

This is traditional numerology, shared for fun and cultural interest — not a scientific claim about your personality, compatibility, or luck. Vedic Mulank numerology is a distinct system from Western Pythagorean numerology (which uses your full name and birth date differently) — the two aren't directly comparable.

Navamsa (D9) Chart Calculator

Each 30° Rashi (zodiac sign) splits into 9 equal 3°20' divisions (Navamsas). Which sign a given division maps to follows a classical rule based on the Rashi's nature: movable signs (Aries/Cancer/Libra/Capricorn) count divisions starting from themselves; fixed signs (Taurus/Leo/Scorpio/Aquarius) start counting from the 9th sign from themselves; dual signs (Gemini/Virgo/Sagittarius/Pisces) start from the 5th sign from themselves.

Verified against 2 independently-published worked examples before shipping: 28° Cancer (a movable sign) correctly resolved to Pisces; Taurus 17° (a fixed sign) correctly resolved to Navamsa #6 starting from Capricorn, matching each source's own stated intermediate result exactly. This shows D9 sign positions only, not a full interpretive reading, house placements, or divisional-chart-specific strength analysis (Vimshopaka Bala) — consult a qualified astrologer for that.

Vivah Muhurat Calculator

Searches forward day-by-day for dates matching all of: a favorable Tithi (2,3,5,7,10-13 in either Paksha; Rikta Tithis 4/9/14 always excluded), one of 11 classically-favorable Nakshatras (Rohini, Mrigashira, Magha, Uttara Phalguni, Hasta, Swati, Anuradha, Mula, Uttara Ashadha, Uttara Bhadrapada, Revati), a favorable weekday (Thursday or Friday), and outside the approximate Chaturmas period.

A real, disclosed simplification: this checks Tithi, Nakshatra, and weekday only — the 3 most commonly-cited factors across every source checked. It does NOT check Rahu Kaal (a time-of-day factor — see this site's Rahu Kaal Calculator for your chosen date), Chandra Bala/Tara Bala (personalized to each partner's own Janma Nakshatra), or planetary combustion (Jupiter/Venus "ast") — all real classical factors a professional consultation would weigh. Chaturmas is approximated via the Sun's solar month rather than the exact lunar Ekadashi-to-Ekadashi boundary real Panchangs use.

See the Vivah Muhurat Calculator
Griha Pravesh Muhurat Calculator

Searches forward day-by-day for dates matching all of: a favorable Tithi (2,3,5,10,11,13 in either Paksha; Rikta Tithis and Amavasya/Purnima always excluded), one of 10 classically-favorable Nakshatras (Rohini, Mrigashira, Pushya, Uttara Phalguni, Hasta, Chitra, Swati, Anuradha, Uttara Ashadha, Revati), and a favorable weekday (Monday, Wednesday, or Thursday).

A real, disclosed simplification: checks Tithi, Nakshatra, and weekday only — the 3 most commonly-cited factors across every source checked. Doesn't check Rahu Kaal (see this site's Rahu Kaal Calculator for your chosen date), personal Chandra Bala, or Vaastu-specific timing considerations, all real factors a professional consultation would weigh.

See the Griha Pravesh Muhurat Calculator
Namkaran Muhurat Calculator

Searches forward day-by-day for dates matching all of: a favorable Tithi (2,3,5,7,10,11,13,15 in either Paksha; Rikta Tithis 4/8/9/14 always excluded), one of 13 classically-favorable Nakshatras (Ashwini, Rohini, Mrigashira, Punarvasu, Pushya, Hasta, Chitra, Swati, Anuradha, Shravana, Dhanishta, Shatabhisha, Uttara Phalguni), and a favorable weekday (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday).

A real, disclosed simplification: checks Tithi, Nakshatra, and weekday only. Doesn't check Rahu Kaal, Yamaganda, Gulika Kaal, or Bhadra (all real time-of-day factors a professional consultation would additionally weigh — see this site's dedicated calculators for each) or the baby's own birth-time-derived first-name-syllable rule (Namakshara), a separate classical tradition this tool doesn't compute.

See the Namkaran Muhurat Calculator
Annaprashan Muhurat Calculator

Searches forward day-by-day for dates matching all of: a favorable Shukla Paksha (waxing Moon) Tithi (2,3,5,10,11,13), one of 15 classically-favorable Nakshatras (Rohini, Mrigashira, Pushya, Uttara Phalguni, Hasta, Chitra, Swati, Anuradha, Uttara Ashadha, Shravana, Dhanishta, Uttara Bhadrapada, and the 3 Jupiter-ruled Nakshatras Punarvasu/Vishakha/Purva Bhadrapada), and a favorable weekday (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday).

A real, disclosed simplification: checks Tithi, Nakshatra, and weekday only. Doesn't check the traditional age-window requirement (6/8/10/12 months for boys, 5/7/9/11 months for girls — you must pick your own search start date within that window) or the Moon's house position, a further classical factor some sources cite.

See the Annaprashan Muhurat Calculator
Upanayana Muhurat Calculator

Searches forward day-by-day for dates matching all of: a favorable Tithi (2,3,5,10,11,12 in either Paksha), one of 7 classically-favorable Nakshatras (Hasta, Chitra, Swati, Pushya, Dhanishta, Shravana, Revati), and a favorable weekday (Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday — Saturday is specifically excluded).

A real, disclosed simplification: checks Tithi, Nakshatra, and weekday only. Doesn't check the Uttarayana season requirement (roughly mid-January to mid-July, the Sun's northward journey) or the child's traditional Varna-based age window (7-8 for Brahmins, 11-12 for Kshatriyas, 12-13 for Vaishyas, in classical texts) — pick your own search start date within both before relying on this list, and doesn't check planetary combustion of Jupiter or Venus, a further classical requirement.

Kundali Matching (Guna Milan) Calculator

The classical Ashtakoot ("8-fold") system scores 8 separate compatibility factors from each partner's Moon Rashi and Nakshatra: Varna (1pt), Vashya (2pt), Tara (3pt), Yoni (4pt), Graha Maitri (5pt), Gana (6pt), Bhakoot (7pt), and Nadi (8pt), totaling 36. Every table used (Varna-by-Rashi, Gana/Nadi-by-Nakshatra, the planetary friendship matrix, the Tara-position rule, Bhakoot's distance rule) was researched and cross-checked against astrosage.com and multiple independent sources before shipping.

Two of the 8 factors are DELIBERATELY simplified, disclosed here rather than presented with false precision: Yoni scores by animal match only (same animal = full points, a well-corroborated enemy pair = 0, otherwise neutral) — the full classical rule uses a finer friend/neutral/enemy animal matrix with a male/female sub-distinction this tool's sourced data couldn't fully corroborate with confidence. Vashya scores by group match only (same group = full points, otherwise 0) — the full classical rule also awards partial credit for specific one-way "dominance" relationships between unlike groups, a further sub-table not included here. A real correction made during development: an early draft used a simple odd/even rule for Tara before catching (via a second source) that positions 1 and 9 are odd-numbered but classically beneficial — fixed before shipping.
